Description
The Spillmaster 80L Marine Oil & Fuel Spill Kit is a high‑capacity marine spill response kit housed in a durable red PVC grab‑n‑go bag. Designed for fast cleanup of diesel, petrol, lubricants and engine oil on water, it is ideal for boats, marinas, docks and waterfront facilities.
This 80L kit is widely used across boats, marina workshops, service pontoons and waterfront worksites. It provides a larger, portable solution for managing hydrocarbon spills in marine environments.
Hydrophobic Absorbents for On‑Water Use
Oil‑only absorbents float and repel water, ensuring effective containment and recovery of marine fuel spills in wet, tidal and open‑water conditions.
Marine Safety & Environmental Compliance
Keeping an 80L marine spill kit on hand supports environmental protection requirements for boats, marinas and waterfront facilities.

Emergency Marine Spill Response: The 5 C’s Guide
Workplace & Vessel Safety Notice: This procedure is tailored specifically for the Spillmaster Marine Oil & Fuel Spill Kit 80L. It may be printed as a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), kept with the ship’s log, or displayed as a laminated placard near the bilge or fueling station.
1. CONTROL the Source & Risk
Remove the pair of nitrile gloves from the red PVC Grab‑N‑Go spill kit bag and put them on before approaching the spill. If safe, immediately isolate the leak at its origin by shutting down fuel transfers, closing valves, plugging breaches, or securing tank vents to prevent further discharge into the vessel or the marine environment.
2. CONTAIN the Spread
Deploy the required number of oil‑only absorbent socks (75mm × 1.2m, up to 4 included) end-to-end around the spill perimeter on the deck, in the bilge, or directly on the water’s surface to halt hydrocarbon migration. Prioritise blocking access to scuppers, overboard drains, and open water where fuel or oil can rapidly spread and create an environmental sheen.
3. COMMUNICATE the Hazard
Alert all crew, vessel passengers, or dock staff and immediately restrict access to the affected area, taking note of the heightened ignition, fire, and slip risks inherent to marine fuel leaks. Notify the vessel master, port captain, or site WHS supervisor according to maritime safety protocols. Ensure the high-visibility spill kit sticker is cleanly displayed on the bag for rapid location during an onboard emergency.
4. CLEAN UP the Liquid
For concentrated pooling, tank overflows, or bilge accumulations, deploy the oil‑only absorbent pillow (45cm × 45cm) directly into the flow to draw up bulk hydrocarbons. Use the necessary amount of heavy‑weight oil‑only poly pads (48cm × 43cm, up to 40 included) to skim remaining fuel cleanly off the water’s surface or to wipe down fouled decks and bulkheads. These specialized hydrophobic items will selectively absorb oils and fuels while completely repelling sea or bilge water. Collect all saturated materials and place them into the supplied contaminated waste bags (450mm × 720mm, up to 3 included) for safe handling.
5. CHECK & Restock
Inspect the hull, bilge, or water surface to ensure no slippery residue, dangerous fuel vapors, or rainbow sheen remains. Securely seal the contaminated waste bags and store them safely onboard for proper disposal at an approved onshore maritime waste facility in accordance with local state EPA regulations. Restore full vessel readiness by restocking the kit with a matching Spillmaster Refill Pack.
