240L Chemical / Hazchem Spill Kit — Standard & Professional

Equip industrial work areas with a mobile chemical spill response kit in a blue 240L all-weather wheeled bin. Select Standard for core Hazchem absorbents, barrier tape and a non-spark scoop, or Professional for heavy-weight pads, extra Hazsorb, a pillow and nitrile gloves.

Before responding to a chemical spill, verify absorbent and PPE compatibility against the relevant safety data sheet (SDS) and site response procedures. Do not assume suitability for unidentified or reactive chemicals.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Standard and Professional?

Both have 40 pads and blue 240L bins. Professional includes heavier-weight pads, 90L Hazsorb instead of 60L, a pillow and nitrile gloves. Standard includes longer socks, barrier tape and a non-spark scoop.

Are both kits supplied in blue bins?

Yes. Both configurations are supplied in blue 240L wheeled bins.

Does 240L mean the kit absorbs 240 litres?

No. 240L is the nominal wheeled bin size, not a certified absorbency rating.

Can I use this kit for any chemical?

No. Check the chemical SDS and confirm absorbent, glove and cleanup procedure compatibility before use. Unknown or hazardous spills may require specialist response.

Workplace SOP & 5 C’s Guide

Emergency Spill Response: The 5 C’s Guide

Workplace Safety Notice: This procedure is tailored specifically for the Spillmaster Chemical Spill Kit 240L. It may be printed as a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) or displayed as a laminated placard at the kit station.

1. CONTROL the Source & Risk
Open the blue all‑weather 240L wheeled bin, retrieve the nitrile gloves (2 pairs included), and ensure responders put them on before approaching the chemical spill. If safe, stop the leak at its origin by closing valves, plugging the breach, or carefully uprighting the container to prevent further hazardous release.

2. CONTAIN the Spread
Deploy the required number of Hazchem absorbent socks around the spill perimeter to block rapid fluid migration. For large-scale containment, deploy the long Hazchem absorbent sock (75mm × 3m) and link the standard socks (75mm × 1.2m, up to 4 included) end-to-end to form a continuous, high-volume barrier. Prioritise blocking access to stormwater drains, unsealed ground, and pedestrian walkways.

3. COMMUNICATE the Hazard
Alert nearby workshop or transit staff and immediately restrict access to the chemical spill zone. For large-scale hazardous chemical incidents, notify your WHS supervisor or site emergency warden according to workplace safety procedures. Ensure the high-visibility spill kit sticker on the bin is properly maintained and refer to the included physical Spill Kit Instructions for rapid on-site reference.

4. CLEAN UP the Liquid
Apply the necessary amount of loose absorbent from the heavy-duty Hazsorb 30L bags (3 included) directly onto pooled liquid to bind and solidify the chemical residues. For deep pools or ongoing containment, deploy the Hazchem absorbent pillow (45cm × 45cm) directly into the liquid, and use the heavy‑weight Hazchem poly pads (48cm × 43cm, up to 40 included) as required to wipe up surface films. Use the dustpan & brush to cleanly sweep up the loose absorbents. Collect all contaminated materials and place them into the supplied contaminated waste bags (450mm × 720mm, up to 10 included) for safe handling.

5. CHECK & Restock
Inspect the area to ensure no hazardous chemical residue or dangerous fluid sheen remains. Securely seal the contaminated waste bags using cable ties and dispose of them in accordance with local state EPA environmental regulations. Restore full mobile response readiness by restocking the wheeled bin with a matching Spillmaster Refill Pack.

Workplace Safety Notice: General operational procedure for chemical and fluid incident management utilizing Chemical Spill Kit 240L | (Hazchem Rated). Suitable for display as a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) or station placard.
  1. CONTROL the Source & Risk: Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is donned before approaching any hazardous release. If safe to do so, immediately mitigate the source by closing valves, uprighting damaged containers, or applying emergency plugging to stop further flow.
  2. CONTAIN the Spread: Deploy appropriate containment barriers, socks, or bunding around the perimeter of the spill to prevent fluid migration. Prioritise blocking access to stormwater drains, unsealed ground, and pedestrian thoroughfares.
  3. COMMUNICATE the Hazard: Alert nearby personnel, restrict site access around the affected zone, and notify your WHS supervisor or site emergency warden in accordance with facility safety protocols.
  4. CLEAN UP the Liquid: Apply matching loose absorbents, pads, or pillows directly onto the pooled liquid to capture, bind, and neutralize residues. Safely sweep up saturated materials and transfer all contaminated waste into certified disposal bags for secure handling.
  5. CHECK & Restock: Inspect the area thoroughly to ensure no residual hazards or slip risks remain. Seal and dispose of waste in compliance with local environmental regulations, and immediately restock equipment to maintain full operational readiness.
