Description

The Spillmaster Oil & Fuel Spill Kit 80L is a portable hydrocarbon response kit designed for medium-sized spills involving diesel, petrol, lubricants and hydraulic oils. Its hydrophobic absorbents repel water, making it suitable for workshops, warehouses, factories and industrial sites where reliable spill control is essential.

This 80L kit is commonly used in machinery areas, refuelling points, service bays and maintenance zones where a higher-capacity oil and fuel spill kit is required. It provides a practical balance between absorbency and portability, allowing crews to respond quickly to hydrocarbon spills across the site.

WHS & EPA Compliance

Hydrophobic pads, socks and pillows provide fast containment and reduced slip hazards while supporting WHS and EPA spill control requirements. Keeping an 80L spill kit on site helps workplaces manage hydrocarbon spill risks in workshops, warehouses and industrial environments.

AS1940:2017 Compliant Spill Kit: This spill kit meets the spill response requirements of AS1940:2017.

Workplace SOP & 5 C’s Guide

Emergency Spill Response: The 5 C’s Guide

Workplace Safety Notice: This procedure is tailored specifically for the Spillmaster Oil & Fuel Spill Kit 80L. It may be printed as a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) or displayed as a laminated placard at the spill kit station.

1. CONTROL the Source & Risk
Remove the pair of nitrile gloves from the red weather-resistant PVC spill kit bag and put them on before approaching the spill. If safe, stop the leak at its origin by closing valves, plugging the breach, or carefully uprighting the container to prevent further release.

2. CONTAIN the Spread
Deploy the required number of polypropylene oil-only absorbent socks (75mm × 1.2m, up to 4 included) end-to-end around the spill perimeter to halt hydrocarbon migration. Prioritise blocking access to stormwater drains, unsealed ground, and open waterways where fuels and oils can rapidly spread.

3. COMMUNICATE the Hazard
Alert nearby workshop or site staff and restrict access to the spill zone, noting the heightened ignition or fire risk inherent to fuel leaks. For larger volumes or high-risk incidents, notify your WHS supervisor or site emergency warden according to workplace procedures. Ensure the spill kit identification sticker is cleanly displayed and refer to the included step-by-step spill response instructions for rapid on-site reference.

4. CLEAN UP the Liquid
For concentrated pooling or sump leaks, deploy the oil-only absorbent pillow (45cm × 45cm) directly into the flow to draw up bulk hydrocarbons. Use the necessary amount of heavy-weight oil-only poly pads (48cm × 43cm, up to 40 included) to absorb surface films and wipe down contaminated surfaces. These specialized hydrophobic items will selectively absorb oils and fuels while completely repelling water. Collect all saturated materials and place them into the supplied contaminated waste bags (450mm × 720mm, up to 3 included) for safe handling.

5. CHECK & Restock
Inspect the area to ensure no slippery residue, dangerous fuel vapors, or surface sheen remains. Securely seal the contaminated waste bags and dispose of them in accordance with local state environmental regulations. Restore full response readiness by restocking the kit with a matching Spillmaster Refill Pack.
